Great entry level gun |
Pros: This is a solid barebone marker, with lots of upgrade potential. This is my first marker, and I took it apart, and reassembled it without any problems. has a standard weaver rail so you can add virtually any scope/reflex sight. (my 98c came with dovetail which also has a lot of accessories that fit). Sturdy metal construction. Easily access feeder port with the push of a button. And loos sexy as hell.
Cons: that part of the front pistol grip is permanently attached, so any milsim mags either have to go over it, or behind it. Also the safety is just a push button. It juts out where I normally rest my dominant trigger finger when not in use. I'm afraid I'll turn the safety off by accident.
Overall, A+ as a starter gun. you'll be keeping it for a long time as an upgrade project. This gun will last you through your paintball "career" |

Poor design unchanged |
|
This is the third tippmann 98 that I have purchased over the years where the barrel does not fit straight into the reciever. They need to put a barrel nut into the design like the A-5 has for the barrel to properly seat into the reciever. Most tippmann 98's shoot to left because of this. Save some extra money and buy an A-5 you will be glad you did. |

Its great Just what my son needed |
|
I am greatful for the promp response of me reciving of this paintball marker. My son and I were going paintballing in a couple of weekends and he really wanted his own gun but I didn't want to buy a new and I have enjoyed Tippman's for a while and the gun came just as promised. Thanks again. |

Worst tippmenn gun ever |
|
the a5 or x7 is a much better choice if you are buying a tippmenn or Tippmann X7 Electro PHENOM Paintball Marker Gun InStock marker. Tippmann A-5 A5 Paintball Marker Gunthe 98 custom requires to many upgrades to make it even work like an a5 and if you get a a5 or x7 with an e-grip they are the best woods-ball marker you can get if you do some upgrades that are relatively cheap. |
